Dear Parents and Guardians of Third Grade Students, Out of an abundance of caution, and in the best interest of the students, we have made the decision to postpone the third grade field trip to Harn Homestead until March 31, 2025. With the amount of wind that is predicted for tomorrow, and with portions of the field trip being outdoors, we have determined this to be the best option. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. All arrangements will be moved to March 31st. This includes chaperones. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or if you are unable to be a chaperone on the new date.

Sunset Families,It's that time of year again- World's Finest Chocolate Sales! For those new to Sunset, each year we sell World's Finest Chocolate bars and it is not only our biggest fundraiser of the year, but also has the best prizes for top sellers of the year! The top seller will receive $300 cash! A sheet will be coming home with your student today (and is attached here for a sneak peak) with a permission slip at the bottom for them to bring back on Tuesday. That slip allows them to get a box of chocolate to sell. They are $1 each and each box has 60 bars. If they forget the sheet on Tuesday, bring it Wednesday! You can start anytime and as they sell a box, they will use the envelope in the chocolate box to bring back money and get another box if you want. The sheet shows money is due on Monday, March 3rd but because of the school closings, money will be due on Tuesday, March 4th. We want to give the kids two full weeks to sell, sell, sell! Any questions, don't hesitate to contact Kay Robinson at kayrob1977@gmail.com. Thank you for your continued support of Sunset!-Sunset PTO

Because of continued isolated icy roads in parts of our district as well as slick and dangerous parking lots and sidewalks, Edmond Public Schools will move to remote learning for all schools for Thursday, February 13th. Students should refer to information sent by their school site for assignments that will need to be completed for attendance to be counted. Based on the current forecasts, we plan to be back to in-person school on Friday.

Because of an increasing number of student and staff absences this week, we have made the difficult decision to close school for all Edmond Public Schools for tomorrow, Friday, January 31st. Extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled.   This decision was made in advance to give our families and staff members time to prepare. We will let you know as soon as possible how this instructional time will be made up.   We look forward to seeing your students back in class on Monday morning.

Thank you to Edmond Summit Rotary for this generous (and wonderful) donation of books. Each book was given in honor of their monthly speaker. We were thrilled to find that the book, Books Make Good Friends, was signed by our superintendent when she spoke to the Rotary! What a treasure for Sunset students!
